Meet Maddy Zamel -
Your fashion confidante and the heart behind Lady of Leitrim Boutique, this little haven is truly a dream realized. Whether you’re browsing our in-store racks or navigating our online shop, my mission is to help you uncover styles that enhance and highlight your beauty and inner supermodel. To embody this vision, I’d love to share my journey and the fashion principles that shape the essence of my beloved boutique.
From a young age, I’d find myself lost in my mom’s wardrobe, mesmerized by her effortless elegance. My mom, who grew up in Leitrim, Ireland, was my ultimate fashion icon. With just a swipe of red lipstick, she’d transform, exuding a magical confidence. Her influence sparked my passion for fashion and inspired me to explore my own creativity.
My passion for fashion led me to Parsons, where I studied Fashion Marketing, and later, to working with renowned designers like Michael Kors, Christian Dior, and Ralph Lauren.
After two decades in NYC, I moved to Clinton, NJ, in 2020 to be closer to family following my mother's unexpected passing. This new chapter offered a comforting space to cope with my grief. In 2022, I faced a breast cancer diagnosis, which reinforced the importance of pursuing my dreams. Inspired by self-reflection, I founded Lady of Leitrim in honor of my mother’s legacy. It is a creation of all of me; my experiences, my love of travel, fashion, art and most important, love and acceptance of self.
