Celebrating With Gratitude: Reflections on the First Year

Hello Friends,

March marks a big milestone for Lady of Leitrim: our one year anniversary!

As I reflect on the past, one word defines this year… GRATITUDE.

It’s hard to believe a year has passed since I opened Lady of Leitrim. I manifested this dream for a while and when it became a reality, it was both exhilarating and frightening. I was leaving behind not only a career but also an identity that defined me and how I lived for over 20 years. I was a creature of habit and there was comfort and safety in that for me, as well as many great memories. I was grateful for that journey and it brought me to this present moment.

I took a huge leap of faith and had no idea what to expect. I just knew I was moving in the direction of joy and away from fear.  I think back on this year and I have to pinch myself. I was very clear in my intention and knew I wanted to create an experience for women, a space of elegance and style yet super comfortable, laid back and fun. I wanted women to feel supported not just in fashion but in life. The green couch is the focal point of the store and truly sets the tone for the environment, “come, relax, have a seat and just hang out for a while”.

For me, this store and space is my happy place, it has provided me with an outlet for my creative expression and has broadened my horizons and taught me so much about the nuances/challenges of running a small business. I didn’t even know how to make a FB post when I started. No lie! I was blessed to be surrounded by family and friends that wanted to help me succeed and for that I am forever GRATEFUL.

I am also so very GRATEFUL for my amazing customers that I consider my friends. I want to thank all of you so very much for supporting me and Lady of Leitrim and most importantly for trusting me. Not only with your fashion preferences but with your life experiences. This space vibrates with the energy of dynamic women. You can feel that as soon as you walk through the door. I love the laughter that fills this space. It makes my heart smile and reminds me of my Mom – the inspiration behind all of this. My heart is filled with gratitude, and I can’t wait to see what year two brings!
